Lelong positions itself as e-commerce enabler

Richard Tan quit his profession as a chartered accountant to set up Interbase Resources, which owns one of Malaysia’s most popular e-commerce sites Lelong.com.my. He talks to KINIBIZ about the business surviving the dotcom bust of the early 2000s, how Lelong never made money for the business in the early days towards generating RM25 million in revenue today, his vision for Internet commerce, and if brick-and-mortar businesses are here to stay.
