Stock Market outlook 2015 inside story banner

In this series of five year-end articles, KiniBiz looks at Malaysia’s stock market. We begin with the fact that the Malaysian economy may grow at a slower pace along with the events that could have an impact on economic expansion in 2015. Next up is the sustained selling on the local bourse over the past three weeks that has wiped off most of the gains made by the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI over the last two years. For oil & gas counters in particular, plunging prices for the world’s most widely traded commodity have opened up bargains. Moving along, we take a closer look at the O&G sector where investors risk the possibility that crude oil prices take ages to recover. Big cap stocks from other sectors have also recently become cheap and an enticing alternative to the bargain hunter. KinBiz takes a look at expert big cap recommendations. In the fourth article KiniBiz takes a look at the year in review and goes through small and medium cap recommendations for next year. Finally we look at the plantation and construction industries and how some analysts are finding there is little to entice investors.
