Self-styled strategic development company 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) claims articles published by KINIBIZ this week on its dealings are “baseless” and “malicious” in response to the publication’s year-end bumper issue.
In a statement issued this afternoon, 1MDB said it “has repeatedly answered and disproved these spurious allegations, not only via press statements but also through interviews, presentations and public Q&A sessions”.
“In addition, 1MDB has fully co-operated with the lawful authorities investigating the company, including sharing detailed information with the bi-partisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC),” said 1MDB further.
“It is, therefore, clear that these continued malicious attempts are designed to derail implementation of the 1MDB rationalisation plan,” it said further.
The company was responding to a special year-end review by KINIBIZ on the 1MDB saga which began publishing on Monday Dec 14.
The first article looked at why 1MDB is an attempt to siphon off billions of ringgit while the second article looked at key players and figures associated with 1MDB.
The third article, published today, examines the issues surrounding 1MDB’s mispriced bonds and how these have culminated in irrecoverable losses of nearly RM6 billion. The series will continue tomorrow and run through the weekend.
In turn the detailed analysis is also carried as the cover story of KINIBIZ bumper issue for the year-end, which is now available at all major newsstands for RM20 only.
A combined subscription to both KINIBIZ online and KINIBIZ Magazine is just RM318 per year. In order to subscribe, all you need to do is click here.
