Indonesia’s General Elections Commission (KPU) on Tuesday completed the recapitulation of votes for the 2014 presidential election, with presidential candidate Joko Widodo securing 70,997,833 votes, while his competitor Prabowo Subianto received 62,576,444 votes, Indonesia’s Antara news agency reported.
“The recapitulation process has been finished. The winner of the 2014 presidential election will be announced today at 20.00 West Indonesian Time (WIB),” Antara quoted chairman of the KPU Husni Kamil Manik as saying here on Tuesday at the KPU building in Central Jakarta.
According to Antara’s observation, out of the polling stations in 33 provinces and 130 overseas, the total number of voter turnout was 133,574,277 out of 190,307,134 eligible voters registered at the KPU.
