Leadmont selayang starcityLeadmont Development Sdn Bhd is en route to become a big-scale developer with mega property launches, including the Selayang Star City project, which has a gross development value (GDV) of RM1.6 billion.

Its general manager, Lum Youk Lee, said the company is gearing up for the soft opening of the Star City Mall in the second half of 2016 and expected to rake in an annual revenue of up to RM40 million in the first three years of its operations.

“In the past, we were involved in a number of residential and commercial developments.

“This lifestyle city project is actually a paradigm shift for a conventional smaller scale developer,” he told reporters after the signing of the agreements with the mall tenants here today.

He said the company intends to manage and maintain the Star City Mall by itself.

Lum said Star City Mall is positioned as a one-stop mall within the vicinity of Selayang and its neighbouring districts and aimed to be the game-changer through making an all-in-one vibrant lifestyle hub possible.

“We are pleased that a leading Japanese supermarket chain, Pacific Departmental Store, and Golden Screen Cinemas have chosen to come on board as the mall’s anchor tenants,” he said.

To date, construction of the mall has reached 30% and secured 82% of retail space.

The confirmed mini anchors include Celebrity Fitness, Kaison Home, K-Max Karaoke, Mr DIY, Original Classic, Sports Direct.com, and Taimal.
