AirAsia X Bhd was the most active stock this morning, declining three sen to 71.5 sen as at 9:46 am, on the back of news that the airline as in greater turbulence due to payment problems.
A total of 12.116 million lots changed hands.
A news report said problems were related to staff salaries and fixed and variable allowances.
It also said Tony Fernandes, co-founder and group chief executive officer of AirAsia X’s sister company, AirAsia Bhd, would take on a “more prominent role” in the management of AirAsia X to revive the airline.
AirAsia X staff were informed that payment of their wages and allowances would be on a staggered basis for the month of October, the report said.
