Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (Miga) executive vice president/chief executive officer, Keiko Honda, will visit Malaysia this week.
In a statement today, Miga said the aim of the visit is to discuss areas where Miga can help the country mobilise capital for important projects, primarily in infrastructure.
Honda said Malaysia is one of the most dynamic countries in Asia with ambitious plans to increase standards of living even more in the coming years.
“I welcome these discussions, as the country’s solid infrastructure programme will continue to be a cornerstone of its strong growth,” he said.
Miga was created in 1988 as a member of the World Bank Group, to promote foreign direct investment into emerging economies to support economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve people’s lives.
It fulfils this mandate by offering political risk insurance and credit enhancement to investors and lenders.
