NYT to host clean energy conference in Malaysia

The International New York Times is set to host its fifth global clean energy conference, ‘Energy for Tomorrow’ on Nov 19 and 20 at the Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur.

The New York Times buildingAccording to The New York Times, the two-day conference themed ‘Powering Sustainable Development’ comes as a reaction to the accelerating global demand for energy, particularly in the booming Southeast Asian markets.

The conference will provide a critical and international meeting point for some of the most influential figures from the global energy community. They include government policy makers, senior business figures as well as thought leaders. In addition, delegates are expected to share best practice and discuss where government policy and business should intersect in the pursuit of a clean energy future for Asia.

Figures confirmed to speak at the event include former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis’s (JISEA) Doug Arent, Japan Institute for Energy Economics’s Nobuo Tanaka, Citigroup Environmental Finance and Sustainability’s Michael Eckhart, and ICC Commission on Environment and Energy’s Kersten-Karl Barth.
