Dell XC appliances can lower up to 27% costs for enterprises

Dell announced today the launch of a new generation of networking appliances and solutions that can cater users, ranging from small offices to large corporations, with the introduction of the XC series of web-scale converged appliances and the X-series of network switches.

The new Dell XC series of web-scale converged appliances allows Dell enterprise customers to drastically lower operational costs, improve storage capacity, and improve server rack density to 16 terabytes per rack unit.

“All enterprise customers will benefit from this, especially managed service providers and co-location data centre. In fact, the Dell XC Series offers up to 27% lower cost and up to 6 times faster time to value compared to a traditional virtual desktop infrastructures solution approach,” said Dell in a media statement today.

The X-Series of network switches is an easy to use catering to small and medium businesses which have little or no in-house IT support through easy-to-use interfaces and step-by-step guides.

Mak Chin Wah, general manager of enterprise solutions, South Asia said: “Dell brings decades of experience in delivering enterprise-class features in technology solutions specifically designed for small and medium businesses (SMB).”

“The X-Series fills the SMB gap for Dell as previously Dell only catered for medium and higher-end solutions,” added Dell Malaysia head of enterprise solutions, William Tan.

Dell believes that there are growth opportunities in Malaysia despite sentiment of a flat IT market for 2015.
