XiddiG to develop interactive platform for 1Malaysia TV

xiddig logo thumbMobile telecommunications services provider, XiddiG Cellular Communications Sdn Bhd, has invested RM3 million in an interactive television platform for the development of 1Malaysia Interactive TV Channel programme.

Chief executive officer Sazali Shahid said the company will leverage on the latest “media streaming” technology.

“With the user-friendly interactive communication platform, it will allow users to choose if they would like to communicate online with content providers through click to call, email or chat.

“We should be able to offer this service by the third quarter of this year,”Sazali told reporters after the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between XiddiG, WMS Media Sdn Bhd and IP Core Sdn Bhd here.

Also present was Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek.

Sazali said XiddiG is prepared to work with government agencies, private sector and statutory bodies that required contents to be broadcasted through 1Malaysia Interactive TV Channel.

He said XiddiG, a bumiputera telecommunications firm, targets 500,000 users for its mobile telecommunication line by year-end.

On the goods and services tax (GST), Sazali said XiddiG will offer 10% bonus points.

“For example, if a user purchase a RM10 prepaid card which is charged 6% GST, and additional value of RM1 will be credited into the account,” he said.
