A consortium comprising of Kumpulan Europlus Bhd and IJM Construction Sdn Bhd have been appointed by the government as turnkey/engineering and procurement contractor for the construction of the RM5.044 billion West Coast Expressway (WCE) project.
Kumpulan Europlus said the government also approved the appointment of the consortium as the contractor for the construction of sections 3,4,5,8 and 9 of the project at a cost of RM2.828 billion which will be verified and confirmed by the Malaysian Highway Authority.
Meanwhile, the company also said the appointment of the contractors for the construction of Sections 1,2,6,7,10 and 11 of the WCE project, at a cost of RM2.216 billion, would be done on an open tender basis in accordance with the Concession Agreement dated Jan 2, 2013.
It added that an independent consultant approved by the government would be appointed to verify the costs of these sections.
