The RHB Banking Group has appointed Ibrahim Hassan as the new CEO and managing director of RHB Islamic Bank.
Prior to his appointment, Ibrahim was the president director at PT Bank Maybank Syariah Indonesia and he has also served as Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Islamic. Ibrahim has over 30 years of experience in Islamic banking and has held various senior positions at Maybank, both locally and internationally.
“We are pleased to welcome Ibrahim into the RHB Banking Group. We look forward to his contribution and capabilities in spearheading the Group’s Islamic Bank business into a leading global shariah based financial services provider,” said RHB Banking Group managing director Kellee Kam.
In a statement today, RHB said that Ibrahim will be responsible for overseeing the group’s overall Islamic Banking business and operations, including driving its revenue, expanding the Group’s product range and customer portfolio growth across local and international boundaries.
