Tabung Haji (TH) has not announced its dividend because it has not received approval of the auditor-general.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Jamil Khir Baharom said TH will announce the payment of dividend once the approval is given.
“Let the auditor-general make the decision first,” he said while delivering a talk entitled ‘Kelahiran Rasul Membawa Rahmat Kepada Ummah’ at Seri Perdana in Putrajaya, today.
TH has become a hot topic of discussion on the social media relating to the payment of dividend to depositors and Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) note on reserves.
Jamil Khir said TH does not need a large reserve because it is unlike banks which provide financial loans.
“TH does not come under BNM but BNM still monitor its cash flow and give out reminders,” he added.
Group managing director and chief executive officer Ismee Ismail said TH will announce the bonus in early next month after going through internal and interim auditing.
