Kedah-based property developer, Bina Darulaman Bhd, is keen to participate in the construction of the Kulim International Airport, which is estimated to cost RM1.6 billion.
Group managing director Izham Yusoff said the company is interested in any project in Kedah that can contribute positively to future earnings.
“Of course, we are interested. It’s in our backyard,” he told reporters after the company’s annual general meeting here today.
Since the company is involved in the construction of the Langkawi International Airport and Alor Setar Airport, he believes Bina Darulaman is competent enough to partake in the Kulim Airport project.
Hence, the firm is currently building upon its resources and capability to bid for the project.
On outlook, Izham said the company plans to launch three mixed-development projects, namely in Jitra, Sungai Petani and Kuala Ketil with a total gross development value (GDV) of RM350 million.
“The company is also tendering for quarries and road maintenance projects worth RM100 million,” he said.
Bina Darulaman’s order book stood at between RM150 million and RM200 million, while unbilled sales amounted to less than RM20 million.
