Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd (CMSB) has proposed to acquire a 50% stake in Sarawak-based telecommunications infrastructure and services company, Sacofa Sdn Bhd, for RM186.79 million.
In a statement today, CMSB said the acquisition would be funded by its internally generated fund and bank borrowings.
“We look forward to working with the management and the other shareholders in Sacofa,” said CMSB group managing director Richard Curtis.
Meanwhile, CMSB’s pre-tax profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2014 rose to RM341.45 million from RM294.89 million in the same period last year.
Revenue increased to RM1.67 billion from RM1.42 billion previously.
