No more cooling measures for property sector, says minister

The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry will not impose any more cooling measures for the property sector for the rest of the year.

“This is due to the current economy and challenges faced by the country. We have cooling measures at the moment, such as 70% loan-to-value ratio and foreigners not being allowed to buy houses.

“As such, we will not be imposing anymore cooling measures,” its minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan told reporters after attending the Greater KL and Malaysia Smart City Conference 2015 here today.

He encouraged Malaysian youths to consider renting rather than rush to buy a house.
