AirAsia launched a new product for travellers during a meeting of Asean leaders in Kuala Lumpur today.
The Asean Pass will give travellers the opportunity to make multiple flights across the diverse Southeast Asian region while paying only a single fare.
Travellers have the choice of two types of passes. The first is valid for any 10 flights in Asean within a month for a flat fare of RM499. The second is valid for any 20 flights in Asean within a period of 45 days for a flat fare of RM888.
The AirAsia Asean Pass will be available for sale from January 15, 2015.
“We are proud of being a true Asean airline serving all 10 Asean member countries,” AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes said at the launch of the pass. Minister of International Trade and Industries Mustapa Mohamad was also present.
“The most convenient way to move around Asean is by air, given that we live in places separated by large bodies of water,” Fernandes said.
The idea behind the pass was “one of simplicity,” he shared. Target customers include Asean citizens and non-Asean citizens.
